DENPASAR – Fred Bundah Dimara has established a partnership with the Indonesia Australia Language Foundation (IALF) to provide training for staff members of BPPF and BPEA. The agreement was reached during a meeting with IALF representatives Caroline and David on Thursday, October 2, 2026.

The initiative is part of Central Papua’s development policy, which places human resource development at the heart of the province’s long-term progress.

During the meeting, IALF expressed its readiness to conduct a one-week training program for staff from both institutions. The program is scheduled to take place in April, with the exact dates to be determined once the cooperation agreement has been finalized.

As one of Indonesia’s youngest provinces, Central Papua requires public officials who are competent, adaptable, and capable of competing at both national and international levels. Cooperation with an experienced educational institution such as IALF is considered an effective way to accelerate capacity building, particularly in language proficiency, communication skills, and professional development.

Needs-Based Training

To ensure that the program addresses the participants’ actual needs, IALF requested BPPF and BPEA to provide information on the number of participants as well as the specific skills and knowledge they are expected to develop.

The information will serve as the basis for designing training materials and teaching methods tailored to the needs of the two institutions.

Fred said a draft containing the list of prospective participants and the targeted competencies would be prepared during his working visit to Nabire.

The approach reflects a commitment to developing human resources based on actual conditions and institutional needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all training model. A support proposal has also been prepared to help ensure the sustainability of the program.

Young Generation Seen as a Key Regional Asset

Following the meeting, Fred also had the opportunity to address students from Central Papua who are currently taking an intensive Academic English program at IALF.

The students are strengthening their English-language skills as part of their preparation to pursue higher levels of education.

Their participation in the program highlights the significant potential of Central Papua’s younger generation. With access to quality education, they are expected to eventually return to the region and contribute to the management and development of its natural resources, cultural assets, and broader economic opportunities.

During the session, Fred shared his experiences and encouraged the students to make the most of the educational opportunities available to them.

The partnership with IALF reflects a broader commitment to building Central Papua through investment in its people, both the public officials currently serving the province and the younger generation who will carry its development forward.

Further information regarding the implementation of the training program will be announced at a later date.
