Nabire, February 4, 2026 – Mata Garuda (MG) Central Papua held an online webinar titled “Successful LPDP Scholarship Strategies,” attended by around 50 participants from various regions. The event served as a platform to share experiences and practical strategies for prospective LPDP scholarship applicants, while reinforcing MG Central Papua’s commitment to supporting young Papuans in pursuing higher education opportunities.
In his opening remarks, MG Central Papua Chair Felix Degei, M.Ed, emphasized the community’s role as a bridge for scholarship information. “The presence of MG Central Papua is expected to become a community that disseminates LPDP scholarship opportunities to all young people in Central Papua Province. We are also committed to mentoring friends who plan to apply for the LPDP scholarship,” he said.

The webinar featured three main speakers. Medelky Anou, S.Si, M.Sc, an LPDP alumnus from Arizona State University, presented the technical steps for creating an account and completing the application form, which has undergone significant changes this year compared to previous years. Fred Bundah, S.Si, an LPDP 2024 awardee from the University of Adelaide, discussed strategies for writing essays and personal statements as key elements in the administrative selection stage. He stressed the importance of crafting a compelling hook to capture the panelists’ attention. Meanwhile, Dr. drg. Yohanes Tebai, MH.Kes, an LPDP alumnus from Universitas Indonesia, provided guidance on preparing research proposals for doctoral programs. He underlined that proposals must be original, written by the applicants themselves, and academically accountable.
Participants

access to LPDP scholarship information. Despite being newly established, MG
Central Papua has demonstrated a strong commitment to reaching communities
across Central Papua. Its 2025–2028 vision is to ensure that every young person
in Central Papua has access to information and mentoring throughout the LPDP
application process, enabling more young Papuans to pursue higher education and
return to serve their region.
